Broken Hill

We got to go to Pro Harts gallery and see his paintings.

We also went down to Menindee lake which have just filled from the darling river for the first time in 8 years.

We went to an old time picture theatre to see Tooth Fairy which was funny as I (Zomury) had to go to the dentist and have a tooth out while I was in Broken hill and the toothfairy came.....

We also saw these cool sculptures in the desert. There are lots of emus to see when you drive in the desert.

Bourke, Cobar, Wilcannia

In the outback now and lots of red soil and GREEN!!!!

In Bourke and Wilcannia the Darling river was ready to burst its banks, so we watched it eagerly so we didn't float downstream (may have saved a bit on petrol). Lots of Bindii's in Wilcania (still trying to get rid of them)!

Lots of galahs, budgies, kites, cockatoos and wedgetail eagles.

Lightning Ridge

Lightning ridge is a funny place with lots of Bugs that you crunch on as you walk and you can't help it, they tried to get in your mouth, eyes and ears too (only at night when we walked to the toilets)!!!!!

We went underground into an opal mine and the kids that lived at the mine helped do the tours and were home-schooled.

We had a dip in the artesian bore which was 40 degrees- way too burning hot, but dad liked it.

We went to Amigos castle (an opal mine) which had trap doors and lots of big rooms in it. Amigo made it all himself from ironstone he collected off the ground.

We went for a walk up Bald rock , it is like Ayres rock except a bit smaller, I led all the way. We saw a very old cork tree and learned about Australia's federation.

We headed away from the Coast to get away from all the holiday people. Casino was lovely and quiet and we spent some time doing art work and exploring for bugs. We all made a butterfly from feathers and a dot painting butterfly each. We added them to our butterfly collection stuck to the ceiling in the caravan.

Dad and mum took us to Lismore speedway for a surprise. We saw five cars crash and three flip and we went into the pits with dad and saw some cars up close.
