Drag Races @ Hidden Valley

Last night Tony and I went to the drag races and saw the drag cars. It was very noisy and some kids had earmuffs. My and dads favourite was a silver car (in the photo above) that went so so fast, as soon as it took off it was at the end of the strip, WOW fast as !!
We saw the Aussie Bandit ute it went all the way to the end of the drag track on just it's back wheels, dad said it was about 17 times more powerful than our Ford! A lot of modified street cars and motor bikes were racing too. I went on a giant jumping castle slide, it was such a fun night!

Fireworks on NT Day - 1st July 2010

We had a great time on Northern Territory day, dad bought some fireworks and we all went down to East Point and let them off on the beach after we had our pizza. Tony asked us if we wanted to let one off but I didn't want to get hurt. (not that dad would let that happen). Me and Zomury spent most of our time at the play ground playing with the other kids while watching and listening to the fireworks go off. One of them (not ours!) fell over and went into the barbeque and pierced a hole through a sausage .
We went home at 9:45pm and didn't get to bed till late.
I absolutely loved the display.

V8 Supercars @ Hidden Valley Raceway

The weekend of 18th - 20th June was a big race meeting in Darwin at the Hidden Valley track. Lots of people were there, and we went 3 days in a row! It was round 8 of the V8 Supercar series with Holdens and Fords competing, we went for Holden. They won!!! There were also V8 Utes, Touring car Masters, Formula Ford and Commodore & HQ Holden races. We went into the pits and got lots of posters and got some signed by the drivers. We liked the pink and purple XA GT351 Ford that Leanne Tander drives. There was a cool kids area with free rides and spray on tattoos, dad let us get one each. After the races finished there was a concert on with Dr Elephant, Gyroscope and Sneaky Sound System, which was most popular and my favourite. I cant wait until we go again! Mum was interviewed on the big screen and was embarrassed by the questions the man asked.

Litchfield NationalPark

Today we went to Litchfield and swam in the Buley Rockpools and at Florence Falls. We took a picnic lunch to eat there. We saw lots of black fish at Florence Falls and I fed some of my bread to them, they loved it! Meophy was scared to swim with the fish and I was too a little bit, but Mum took us in and it was great, lots of people were there. We went exploring around the rocks and saw a goanna with its tail missing. We went to see some big termite mounds too! One was nearly 5 metres high! Some clever ants build their mounds from east to west to avoid the sun.

Mindil Market / Deckchair Cinema

The Mindil market is cram-packed full of people on every Thursday evening. Most stalls are food, and we've been trying a different type each night but my favourite is the nutella crepes.
There are fire twirlers, reptile shows, buskers and musicians to be entertained by. I love the atmosphere of it and the sunsets are amazing.

The Deckchair Cinema is an outdoor open-air cinema where you sit in deck chairs and watch a movie. We went and saw "Bran Nue Dae" last week, it was awesome! We saw a cute little possum there and it sniffed Tony's toe. We didn't get to bed till midnight.

Darwin Wavepool / Leanyer Water Park

Last week we went to Leanyer water park where there were water slides, water play grounds, normal play grounds, a pool and the skate park. We will have heps of fun whenever we go there! And its all free!
Another day we went to the Wave pool in Darwin. We got to use blow up water tubes and big boogie boards, it was lots of fun. They had the waves on for 20 minutes and of for 10 minutes. We didn't want to leave!
